8oz self raising flour
1/2 level teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
4oz butter
3oz sugar
2oz sultanas
1 egg
Milk
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together Into a bowl.
Rub in the butter until you get breadcrumbs then add the sugar and sultanas.
Add the egg, then add enough milk to make a firm dough
Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut into circles with a 3 inch cutter.
Cook on a hot griddle or frying pan for a few minutes per side until golden. Cool on a wire rack, sprinkling with sugar.
